Criminal Law: When good people run into bad trouble

The very first jury trials that Mr. Radeline participated in were criminal trials over 15 years ago when he was in law school at the University of Florida. He was a Certified Legal Intern working for the State Attorney’s Office and achieved a guilty verdict against a drunk driver. Since that humble beginning so many years ago, Radeline Law Firm has represented clients who have been accused of a variety of crimes, including DUI, theft, drug possession, domestic battery, DWLSR, and other crimes. Most of our criminal clients have been former clients who were very happy with our representation of them in other matters, or people referred by former clients.

Your freedom, your future, and your reputation are at stake

When you have been charged with a crime, your freedom, your future, and your reputation can be at stake. A criminal conviction can have a devastating impact on your life. Many employers conduct background screenings prior to making a job offer. You can lose the right to vote. Fines and penalties can add up to an insurmountable mountain of debt. And criminal offenses carry the risk of jail or prison time.

The best defense is a vigorous offense

When you are charged with a crime, the government is throwing its all at you. The rational choice is to fight back. Mr. Radeline will aggressively review your case, scour the government’s evidence against you, and discuss with you the best possible way to get you out of this mess.

Sometimes, we can get the government to drop the charges. Other times, we may be able to have the charges reduced to a lesser offense that has fewer legal repercussions. Some charges qualify for special programs where the charges are dropped after a probationary period. Other cases require a negotiated plea bargain, and how the negotiations are conducted can make a huge difference. Some cases, with client informed consent, must be taken to trial to achieve the client’s goals.

Depending on how the court characterizes a conviction, it may or may not be eligible for expungement or sealing.
